What is MotioninJoy?

MotioninJoy drives your sixaxis or dual shock 3 on windows. By this way your sixaxis or dualshock 3 as a general game controller with motion sensor.

Sixaxis & Dualshock 3 driver Install Instructions

1. Download the appropriate drivers from download page .
   

2. Last Instructions on wiki.

3. Unrar or unzip the file.
   

4. Run the install program. follow the setup steps.By default it will place the drivers and software in "C:\Program Files\MotioninJoy\ds3".
   

5. Plug
   in your Playstation 3 controller(Sixaxis or Dualshock 3). If you
   haven't done this before, you will see that some basic Windows drivers
   are installed.

   

6. From the Start button,run the "Start->All Programs->MotioninJoy->Install USB driver".Make sure to right click and "Run as administrator"or The driver will not install properly if your system is x64,before you do next step.

   

7. If
   your system is 32bits windows skip this step. Restart Windows-when it
   starts to boot up again repeatedly press F8 key just after the BIOS
   does its POST.Select "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement".

   

8. Unplug the other USB bluetooth dongls if any except the one you need to
   connect sixaxis or ds3.After windows install its default driver, right click(Start->All Programs->MotioninJoy->Install Bluetooht driver)run as administrator. If need to use other bluetooth dongles, just plug it in after installation finished.
   

9. If your system is 64bits windows do step 6 again.
   

10. Start->All Programs->MotioninJoy->DS3 TOOL(request Microsoft dotNET 3.5),click "Pairing" button.

    

11. Unplug the USB wire,press Playstation 3
    controller's "PS" button shortly to connect via bluetooth,The LED of
    "1" will always light after connected,dualshcok 3 will vibrates a
    moment.
    

12. Seclect options that you hope and click "Enable Options" button.
    

13. Enjoy your windows game.
    

14. Long press Playstation 3 controller's(sixaxis' or dualshcok 3's) "PS" button to disconnect.

5. Start->All Programs->MotioninJoy->Install USB Driver Right
   click and use the "Run as administrator" option. After several seconds,
   Notepad will pop up and give you the install status. If the last line
   is “SUCCESS: installed package C:\Program
   Files\MotioninJoy\ds3\drivers\MijUfilt.inf.” then the drivers installed
   correctly. (Note that if you want to use a different USB port, you will
   have to repeat this step.)




6. First hit the PS button to wake up the controller (you will have to do that every time you turn off the computer or disconnect the USB cable)
   then navigate to Control Panel->Devices and Printers->Game
   Controllers. You can press buttons here and see them reacting. The
   analog isn't going to work just yet, don't worry.




7. Go to Start->All Programs->MotioninJoy->DS3 TOOL Here you can choose between 4 profiles and the vibration function.
   
• Digital Gamepad(Dpad,without joystick) Digital set up, Dpad works off of the X/Y axis. This is like the PS1 controller, works well for soccer games.
• Analog Gamepad1(POV,Joysticks)Dpad is set to POV/hat switch, the 2 analog sticks are set up on the X,Y, Z and RZ axes. This is like a PS2 controller and is currently the most used.
• Analog Gamepad2(POV,Joysticks,Analog Triggers)Dpad is set to POV/hat switch, the 2 analog sticks are set up on the X,Y, Z and RZ axes, L2 and R2 are also on an axis. This works well for racing games and is similar to the XBOX 360 controller.
• Analog Gamepad3(POV,Joysticks,Analog Triggers,Motion sensor) This is similar to Gamepad2 with the added effect of motion sensors. At the moment it's not very practical.
• Emulate Xinput Imitates the XBOX 360 controller. Is currently greyed out because it's still unusable.
• Enable vibration Enables vibration. [duh]

8. If you only want to use USB, you should be able to operate it normally from here.

Sixaxis Dualshock 3 Connecting via Bluetooth on windows

1. First make sure that your USB connection is functioning properly(see the above instructions), as this set of instructions is for the Bluetooth connection.
2. If you have multiple Bluetooth adapters installed, take out the ones you don't plan to use with the SIXAXIS/DS3 so they don't get affected by the MotioninJoy drivers.
3. As above, if you use a 64bit system you have to hold F8 and select Disable Driver Signature Enforcement.
4. Navigate to [Start -> All Programs -> MotioninJoy -> Install Bluetooth driver(Install MotioninJoy driver ver 0.4.00)]and right click it, selecting Run as administrator. After a few seconds, Notepad will pop up and give you the installation
   information (note that if you switch USB ports, you'll have to repeat this step.) If the last line in the Notepad document looks like this:
   
   LOG Event: 0, Install completed
   LOG Event: 0, Installation completed with code 0x0.
   LOG Event: 1, RETURN: DriverPackageInstallW (0x0)
   SUCCESS: installed package C:Program FilesMotioninJoyds3driversMijBThid.inf.
   
   you're good to go.



5. At this point, if you open [Control Panel -> Printers and Other Devices -> Game Controllers] you can see it looks about the same as the picture below. If it appears like that, you know for a fact that the installation was a success. Pressing buttons still won't work right now, so continue on with the next steps.



6. Connect your SIXAXIS/DS3 through USB and make sure [Control Panel -> Printers and Other Devices -> Game Controllers] looks like the below picture.

1. Go to [Start -> All Programs -> MotioninJoy -> DS3 TOOL] and click the pairing button. Make sure you have both the SIXAXIS/DS3 and the Bluetooth adapter plugged in and working. Every time you use your
   controller with a PS3 you'll need to repeat this step.



2. Tap the PS button. If you hold the button for too long it will "unplug" the controller. If you feel a short rumble and the lights start flashing, then a single light goes solid, congratulations on your success! Now
   you can go back to the Control Panel and test it out. For the controller's configuration options, refer to the USB Setup Guide.
3. Now you can enjoy unrestricted, wireless, rumbling gameplay delight!
4. Hold the "PS" button in to interrupt the Bluetooth connection and put the controller to sleep, saving battery power.
5. Next time you want to use it, just tap the "PS" button and it will connect on it's own.
