Does the PS3 have to be off?

I was wondering if the PS3 had to be off and/or unplugged.  It might disrupt the gameplay of someone else on the PS3 while I am using the computer (e.g. loading up XMB with PS button).  In addition does it need to be unplugged so holding the PS button does not turn on the PS3 from far away.Thank you motioninjoy

My built-in wireless is not connecting too.
But my Bluetooth Dongle works like charm.

Buy a Dongle.

"built-in wireless" isn't bluetooth

When someone talks about wireless, or about built-in wireless for a laptop, they're talking about wireless Ethernet. If someone's talking about Bluetooth, they'll say Bluetooth, but if they just say "wireless" you can assume wireless Ethernet.

I meant built in

I meant built in Bluetooth.
Sorry.
