Now that you have the MotioninJoy drivers installed, it's time to configure your controller for use in a game.
Follow this guide to get started with playing your game!
Here is a list of the default buttons and axises for the Analog Gamepad 3 profile.
This is good to know when you are assigning the game's controls to the buttons on the controller.
On the QuickStart page of the DS3 Tool, you have these profile options.
These are the different profile options you can select.
First you want to go to the DS3 tool, and make sure Analog Gamepad #3 is enabled. Next click on the Game Controller Panel button. Click Properties in the Game Controllers window, then click on the Settings tab and click on the Calibrate button. This makes the analog sticks and Sixaxis more responsive and is recommended if you plan on using the Sixaxis functions!!
In your game you can set the control mappings to whatever you like, refer to the button list above.
Now that you have the PS3 controller calibrated and ready, it's time to configure the game's controls.
Specific instructions vary from one game to the next, for specific instructions for your game please check out the configuration guides.
Here are the generic instructions that should work with most games.
Note: If you see anything about a Xbox 360 controller, such as you only see an image of what the controls are on a Xbox 360 controller, you might need to go back to the DS3 tool and select and enable the Xbox 360 emulator profile option as the game probably only supports a Xbox 360 controller. This is seen frequently on popular games such as Call of Duty. To see what games require an Xbox 360 controller, please check out the Xbox 360 controller games and MiJ Compatibility page.
If you want to use your PS3 controller with a console emulator, such as Project64 or PCSX2, you'll need to assign the controller controls in the controller settings in the emulator to the buttons on the PS3 controller.
Here we will use PCSX2 as an example, but these instructions should work with most other emulators, you'll just need to find where the controller settings menu is in your emulator. Also knowing what the console's original controller looks like and what its button placement is is a good idea.

In addition to using the PS3 controller as a joystick, you can use it as the mouse and map buttons to keyboard shortcuts. There are two ways of accomplishing this:
1. Select the Custom Profile option in the DS3 tool and make your own custom profile in the DS3 Tool profile editor.
2. You can use a program called JoytoKey which translates button presses and axis movement from a game controller to keyboard shortcuts and mouse movement.
